This is an awesome video I ran into while looking around PopSci today. Not the place I typically run into 3D stuff at, but still very cool. It would be awesome if something like that was implemented in Blender. The article: http://www.popsci.com/node/47281/?cmpid=enews072210

Yeah. Unfortunately it's for Softimage ICE only, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong. I know it's definitely not for Blender.
